Summer Holiday Homework 2023 - Projects & Activities for Students
LETTER TO PARENTS
Dear Parents,
Greetings and good wishes from Wisewoods.
Hope, you are enjoying the spirit of being a family, with your children.
Happy to share with you that the school took good care of your children’s education during the last ten months. Now they are with you for the vacation. This is an opportunity for you to teach them those values which the parents need to teach.
Gaining subject knowledge at school is not the end of their learning. Their education should go far beyond. Most children today are highly pampered and protected and they are far away from life that is real. Giving them an experience of life in its reality, will go a long way in supporting their future life.
Train your children to be self-dependant; in cleaning and keeping their room and furniture spic and span, housekeeping, cooking, washing dishes etc. Let them take pride in doing it themselves and understand the dignity of labour.
Take your children to your work place and show them how hard you work to support their education and to keep the family happy & comfortable. Let them work with the workforce and experience difficulties. They will imbibe humaneness.
Let
your children visit grandparents and see for themselves how the grandparents
struggle to organize their life at their old age. They will get emotionally
impacted.
Allow them to make friendship with neighbours. They will understand the society.
Give your children the freedom to make small purchases in the market. They will learn the basics of business transaction. Let them know the household requirements; their value in terms of cost, nutrition, utility etc. printed on every product. They will learn how to add value to the money they spend. Each of these experiences will be worth going through.
But, at times, please do not hesitate to say no also, to your children, especially, to those wishes which are not right and not acceptable. Be firm and avoid giving motor bike, car etc for driving on their own. Remember, they are minor children and so such things need to be done under your care, guidance and control.
Finally, all children are given some activities and projects to do at home. Please support them and ensure that the assignments are completed as per the directions and brought back to school.
Thank you.
Happy Holidays and Family Togetherness.
LETTER TO STUDENTS
Dear Students,
Hope, you are enjoying the holidays in the company of your parents, friends and other near and dear ones. Enjoy with all safety precautions. Summer is too hot.
In addition to the fun and enjoyment, we are sure, you will make this summer, an occasion for learning new skills and for gaining experiences about life in reality. Please, do learn taking your parent’s help and guidance.
Alongside, we hope, you will spare a short period of your vacation to stay connected to the subjects you have learnt. To support you in this regard, a few projects and assignments are given as holiday homework. All activities and projects can be tried and done by you at home on your own. It may take ten days to complete all the activities and worksheets, if done with focus and seriousness. Doing those activities will reinforce your understanding of the concepts you have learnt in various subjects.
The holiday homework can be completed at your convenient time before reporting to school in June. Try to do all activities if possible. However, for the purpose of internal assessment, it is compulsory for you to do five activities of your choice in each of these subjects. Write your response neatly in 100 pages note book separately for each subject and submit to the teachers concerned when you report to school.
The assignments will be evaluated for internal assessment.
Thank you.
